I saw the Japanese yen coin…I heard the Lord say “Japanese yen”… He said: “A time of financial shaking is coming… This is the Japanese economy, but it will affect the US market as well and markets around the world. However, though the spinning will lose control for a short while, a moment of self-correction is coming… A drastic moment is coming when a financial miracle will take place. It will start in both the US and the Japanese economy and then will affect those around the world… You’re going to see this happening in the next two years

Japanese Financial Market Update
- 15% Tariff Trade deal with US sparks 4% rally in Nikkei
- Nikkei now near all time highs again at 41,000
- Dollar Yen roughly 150 mid point of recent range
- But long interest rates now at 18 year high (pre financial crisis)
Specific yen Risk – False Flight to Safety
Bundesbank, the Dallas Fed and the IMF wrote various white papers (circa 2013-2014) evaluating why the Japanese yen behaves like a safe haven currency during times of crisis. They concluded it was not for fundamental reasons (unlike the Swiss Franc or US Dollar), but instead was likely due to the unwinding of the carry trade in times of quickly depreciating assets (like a margin call).
Thus, a complicating factor in any future financial crisis could well involve a false strengthening of the yen backfiring due to unintended consequences or unforeseen circumstances.
