Jewish Roots

Join us for an exciting discussion about the Jewish roots of Christianity and Messianic Judaism and the truth of gentiles being grafted into the olive tree of Israel as wild shoots (Romans 11).

Background: Irrevocable Covenants

My friend Eric asked me if I had read Dan Juster’s book Jewish Roots, as he wanted to lead his family into teaching as to why/how Christianity came out of Judaism, and what’s important to understand about that. He will join us for the discussion.

My response was, no I haven’t, but Grant has and even referenced it in his book Romans 911. In fact, Dan was the “Theological Oversight” for Romans 911.

What does the phrase Jewish Roots mean? (fruits)

What does it NOT mean? (attempting to fulfill requirements of the Mosaic covenant when it has already been fulfilled)?

What Messianic branches have gone too far and fallen into ditches of legalism (Jewish Roots, One Law, Dual Covenant)?

Which branches of Christianity consider any connection to Jewish roots to be “Judaizing”?

Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved… why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?

Acts 15:1,10

You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs? … we know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:14-16
